Danish Sofa in Oak by Borge Mogensen, 1950’s
A Danish sofa bed in oak designed by Borge Mogensen for Fredericia Stolefabrik in the 1950’s. An iconic design by one of the preeminent designers of the period this piece is a low sofa that doubles up as a bed, designed for practical modern living and is very comfortable as well.
The sofa has had a thorough restoration the frame has been lightly sanded and finished with a wax oil and wax polish to bring out the rich patina of the oak. The original sprung cushions have been retained and re-upholstered in a teal/green wool fabric from Kvadrat.
An interesting design beautifully made in the 1950’s thoroughly restored and reupholstered to look amazing for years to come.
