A Hans Wegner Armchair In Oak & Wool for Getama, Danish 1950’s
A charming high-back armchair designed by Hans Wegner in solid oak for Getama in the 1950’s.
An iconic design by one of the pre-eminent designers of Danish furniture Hans Wegner the GE 290 also known as the plank chair is a handsome elegant design from the 1950’s. Crafted in solid oak wood this chair has a beautiful rich patina complemented nicely by the grey wool upholstery from Svensson.
The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and sanded to remove the old dirty finish and marks. and a wax oil and polish applied to bring out the rich colour and patina of the wood. The original sprung cushions have been kept and reupholstered in a light grey wool fabric from Svensson.
A lovely highback armchair designed by Hans Wegner attentively restored to its former glory and very comfortable as well.

The fabric used is a wool fabric from Swedish manufacturer Svensson Rami 8200.
