Mid Century Sofa Mahogany & Velvet, Danish 1950’s

A Stunning mid century velvet sofa in Mahogany made by a Danish cabinetmaker in the 1950’s.  A rare and unique shape with beautiful colour to the mahogany wood and amazing new upholstery of a dark blue cotton velvet front and complementary Damask with stylised floral pattern on the reverse. Finished of with royal blue trimming cord.
As you can see from the pictures we have gone to great effort and expense to restore this piece to its former glory. The mahogany has been stripped of the old finish oiled and French polished to bring out the richness of the natural patina. And the old upholstery removed and reupholstered using expensive high quality fabrics from Colefax & Fowler and Zoffany to compliment the colours of the wood perfectly.
Of unique shape and form this mid century velvet sofa has been made with great care attention to detail comprehensively and sympathetically restored to look truly elegant. A fine example of Danish design.
The fabrics used Manuel Canovas Colefax & Fowler Rivoli velvet, and Zoffany Persian tulip weave with Houles trimmings. Please feel free to contact us for samples.
