1950s Sofa 2 Seater by Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen for France & Daverkosen, Danish
1950s sofa designed by wife and husband team Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen for France & Daverkosen, model FD 117. This rare two-seater sofa features a refined combination of teak and oak, with beautifully integrated teak armrest inserts. A subtle yet striking design choice that adds elegance and distinction to its graceful silhouette.
The piece has undergone extensive but sympathetic restoration. The wood was gently cleaned, lightly stripped, sanded, oiled, and finished with French polish and a final wax to enhance the rich tones and natural grain. The original upholstery was removed, and the cushions have been reupholstered in a soft blue linen fabric from Holland & Sherry.
A standout 1950s sofa that blends sculptural elegance with everyday comfort. Rare, beautifully restored and ready for many more decades of use. A true collector’s piece for anyone who appreciates refined Danish design from a golden age of furniture making.
