Mid Century Lounge Chairs in Oak by Niels Koefoed, Danish 1950’s

Mid century lounge chairs designed by Niels Koefoed in the 1950s, model Lars. This rare pair in solid oak features elegant brass back supports and beautifully crafted joints that highlight the quality of Danish craftsmanship. With their refined lines and honest materials, these chairs offer a quiet elegance typical of Scandinavian design from this period.
The frames have been carefully cleaned, lightly stripped, and finished with Danish oil and a wax polish to enhance the natural warmth and grain of the oak. New Pirelli webbing has been fitted, and the old cushions replaced and reupholstered in a soft yellow Hallingdal wool from Kvadrat, chosen for its texture, durability, and classic mid-century feel.
These mid century lounge chairs are not only beautiful to look at but also practical and supremely comfortable. Fully restored with great care and attention to detail, they are ready for another lifetime of use. A standout pair of mid century lounge chairs a rare design with timeless appeal.

The fabric used for the cushions is a Danish wool  Hallingdal 65 by Kvadrat. This fabric is synonymous with Danish furniture being designed in 1965 by Nana Ditzel, who was responsible for some famous furniture designs herself. A rare woman designer in a male-dominated field this fabric has been used extensively throughout the years and is of exceptionally high standard.
