An amazing three-seater sofa in oak designed by Hans Wegner for Getama in the 1950’s
A lovely piece of design this three-seater sofa in solid oak is very stylish and comfortable. Conceived by one of the most famous designers of the period Hans Wegner and manufactured by one of the foremost makers of Danish furniture Getama. This design makes full use of the oak wood to express line and curve and show of the lovely colour and patina of the wood.
As with the matching armchair we are selling the sofa was comprehensively restored to its former glory. The wood was cleaned and lightly sanded to remove the old damaged finish, and wax oil and later polish applied to bring out the lovely colour of the oak. The original sprung cushions were stripped of the old fabric cleaned and recovered with a cool Swedish grey/blue wool fabric from Svensson.
A lovely piece of design cleaned and restored to have a new lease of life and to look amazing in someone’s home.

The fabric used is a wool fabric from Swedish manufacturer Svensson Rami 8200.
