Set of Six Willy Rizzo Dining Chairs in Velvet, Italian 1970’s

A magnificent set of  Willy Rizzo dining chairs manufactured by Mario Sabot in the 1970’s. Black lacquered continuous Z shaped frame supporting a 70’s inspired geometric pattern velvet seat with a brushed aluminum seat surround, all in an excellent original condition.

A rare set of chairs designed by world famous designer Willy Rizzo. An elegant attractive design in a high shine black lacquer offset perfectly by the dark reds and purples of the newly upholstered Robert Allen velvet fabric, contrasted against the brushed aluminum seat ring.

I chose an expensive Robert Allen fabric because the geometric pattern is very much in keeping with the style of the mid 70’s. A beautiful velvet with lovely deep rich colours that change and accentuate the piece when viewed from different angles.

Many of these chairs are prone to chips and scratching as you can imagine a high shine surface that is 40 years old would. But this set have avoided this and the lacquer is still vibrant and fresh free from any chips or scratches, in perfect condition. A real statement piece for any interior.
