1950’s Chair Design Armchair & Footstool by Borge Mogensen, Danish 1950’s
This rare 1950’s chair design by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia, model 2254, includes a reclining armchair and matching footstool crafted in oak and afrormosia (African teak). The unique addition of afrormosia runners on both the chair and stool sets this piece apart, making it a rare find. Both items have been fully cleaned and restored, with the wood finished in Danish oil to enhance the beautiful grain and rich color.
The original cushions have been replaced with new foam and reupholstered in a heavy teal wool fabric from Kvadrat, adding a striking texture with its corn row relief. This 1950’s chair design brings both comfort and character to any space, embodying the best of Danish mid century style.
The set was originally purchased with an additional chair, which is being sold separately—though the full set is available if preferred. This iconic 1950’s chair design is a rare find!
