Borge Mogensen Chair in Teak & Afrormosia, Danish 1950’s
This rare Børge Mogensen chair, model 2254, designed in the 1950s for Fredericia, is a stunning example of Danish mid century style. Made from oak with unique afrormosia (African teak) bottom runners, this piece combines beautiful rattan and linen webbing for an airy, natural feel. The chair has been fully cleaned and restored, and the wood finished with Danish oil to enhance its rich grain and warm color.
We’ve updated the original cushions with new foam and upholstered them in a heavy teal wool fabric from Kvadrat, featuring a lovely corn row texture that adds depth and elegance. This Børge Mogensen chair is equally comfortable with or without the back cushion, allowing for a flexible seating experience.
Originally purchased as part of a set with an additional chair and footstool (click link), I’m offering each item separately, though the full set is available if desired. This Børge Mogensen chair brings both style and comfort to any space.
