Mid Century Rosewood Sofa in Leather by Illum Wikkelso Capella, Danish 1950’s

Mid century rosewood sofa designed by Illum Wikkelsø for Niels Eilersen in the 1950s. This rare three-seater version of the Capella model comes with its original matching footstool and features a beautifully crafted solid rosewood frame paired with original black leather cushions. The warmth and depth of the rosewood grain contrast perfectly with the natural character of the aged leather.
This piece has been extensively and sympathetically restored. The rosewood has been carefully cleaned, burnished, oiled, and wax polished to enhance its rich patina and grain. The original leather cushions have been gently cleaned with leather soap and nourished with conditioning creams to revive their softness. The old seat webbing has also been replaced with Pirelli webbing for improved comfort.
A superb example of Scandinavian design, this mid century rosewood sofa combines elegance with everyday function. The clean lines, honest materials, and craftsmanship make it a refined statement piece. A timeless mid century rosewood sofa set that brings both beauty and practicality to any interior. A matching 2 seater sofa is also available.
